Vienna Design Week and Vienna Fashion Week provide a great opportunity to explore design in all its rich variety in fall 2017.
From September 11-17, 2017 the MuseumsQuartier will showcase the latest fashion when designers from Austria and abroad present their collections at Vienna Fashion Week. This year’s event is inspired by the theme of “Dancing, Shopping, Fashion.” In addition to daily fashion shows, a pop-up store in Quartier 21 of the MuseumsQuartier gives fashionistas a golden opportunity to browse the racks and try the latest creations for size before committing to a purchase.
The nation’s largest design festival will get under way for the 11th time on September 29, 2017. With more than 100 events over a ten day period, Vienna Design Week explores just about every aspect of design imaginable. Exhibitions, workshops, participative projects, talks, collaborative ventures and tours are all part of the experience in this citywide celebration of the discipline. There is also a special focus on industrial design and the crossover between design and enterprise.
Each year sees the spotlight fall on a different district, with Vienna Design Week 2017 homing in on the fifteenth district. This year’s guest country Romania will provide a detailed insight into its design output. The Vienna Design Week “passion paths” give Austrian and international designers the chance to work alongside Vienna-based companies and develop collaborative projects with them. 2017 will included companies from the first and fifteenth districts.
